For Parents
Why would I want my kids to learn comedy? They’re already too smart-alecky for my taste.
Fair point. But fortunately, smart-alecky behavior isn’t what we teach. Our curriculum focuses on learning a wide variety of comedic techniques and when to use each one. A lot of amateur comedians suffer from poor delivery or poor timing. You may just find that after attending the workshop your kids will be better at one of the comedy’s most important skills: when not to tell a joke.
But what if they just want to be comedians? How will they support a family? Who will take care of me when I’m old? I won’t go to a nursing home. I won’t do it!
Another fair point. But don’t worry! Learning more about comedy writing means developing a whole group of skills that are important for any life path. Some of those skills include:
- Not taking themselves too seriously
- Working well with others
- Critical/analytical thinking
- Problem-solving
- Fighting procrastination
- Rolling with the punches
- Thinking on their feet
- Humility and confidence
- Writing skills
But what if I do want my kid to become a comedian?
Oh. Then just sign up. It’s that easy.

“I got to watch movies with my roommates, and it was so fun! I loved spending time with my roommates at camp and at night.”
